Director, Digital – SEO

Lever Interactive, a full-service online marketing company specializing in performance-based marketing management, is currently seeking a Director of SEO to add to our growing team.

As the Director, Digital – SEO, you will lead a team of SEO Account Managers, serve as a mentor, coach and leader to the team, build client relationships, assist in the development of client strategies, oversee SEO site audits , develop Lever’s core SEO product offering, including building processes, best practices and lead internal training. This position reports to the Vice President, Digital.

Responsibilities and performance evaluation will be based on the following:

  • Building client relationships
    • Client retention
    • Client growth in number and depth of Lever service offerings
    • Client satisfaction
    • New business sales – assisting sales team in pitches to acquire new business
  • Mentor, coach and team leader
    • Successfully working with a diverse team to provide the best service to clients
    • Identify areas of strengths and weakness in team members and work with them to refine as well as position them successfully to succeed with those elements identified
    • Continuously train and mentor the team so that they are able and confident to deliver world-class SEO service to clients
    • Develop and recruit SEO talent
  • Client strategies
    • Assist team in creation of one, three, six and twelve month SEO strategies that deliver in-depth, comprehensive SEO recommendations resulting in increased rankings, traffic and conversions for clients
    • Work diligently with the team to ensure strategies are implemented and/or refined
    • Use existing as well as identify new SEO tools that assist in making the team smarter, and allow them to make informed, data-driven decisions as well as be efficient in client deliverables
  • Development of SEO product offering, team and department
    • Own the SEO product offering by managing resources, time, P&L of the SEO department
    • Work with the VP, Digital and sales team to continuously refine SEO product offering to provide the best service to our clients
    • Develop solid processes and training for the team to grow the team’s SEO skills and knowledge as well as deliver a consistent, and best of breed SEO service to clients

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of leading SEO initiatives and strategies including experience in the execution of SEO recommendations with a proven track record of results
  • Agency and team management experience a must
  • Demonstrated track record of client relationship development and service
  • Strong technical skills including some ability to understand basic website technologies
  • Sound business acumen, financial analysis skills, strategic skills and common sense
  • Demonstrated knowledge in analyzing and interpreting complex data using advanced Excel
  • Proven ability to manage projects to successful completion, multi-task and work within tight deadlines
  • Track record of leadership, coaching and mentoring
  • Experience with web analytics, in particular Google Analytics
  • Exceptional creative thinking and problem resolution skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Can lead as well as function as part of a team
  • Sense of humor
